Mr. Lee Spell has 30 years of local government experience and was appointed Kingsland City Manager in June of 2014. He oversees all of the City’s operations, helping to ensure the city government meets the needs of its citizens and contributes to Kingsland’s growing reputation as a great place to live and do business.
Lee has proudly served the City of Kingsland for over 20 years. Prior to his appointment as City Manager, Lee served as Kingsland’s Human Resources Director, establishing the City’s first full-service Human Resources Department to oversee critical issues of employee safety, recruitment and training. He also served as Interim City Manager, Assistant City Manager and Information Technology Director during his tenure with Kingsland.
Lee has certifications in both Local Government Management and Human Resources Management from the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. He is a graduate of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development and was named a Certified Safety Planning Specialist and Certified Safety Training Specialist by the National Association of Safety Professionals.
Lee is a member of the national Society of Human Resources Management, serving as local chapter president for two terms. He also serves on various boards and committees in Camden County and around the state of Georgia, including the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Regional Advisory Council, the Georgia Municipal Association Technology Advisory Board and the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association.
